Basalt Roving

A Roving is an untwisted, continuous thread, which consists of a strand of fibers. Typically, the single filaments have a minimal size of 9 microns (9/1000 of a millimeter) and often are much higher, up 22 microns.

Basalt Rovings are the base product for many applications, e.g.

  • Textile porcessing, such as weaving, chopping, knitting, etc
  • Composite applications, such as rebars, boards, pipes, etc.
  • Fiber reinforcements, such as in asphalt, concrete, boats, tanks, vessels, etc.
  • Temperature applications, such as building insulation, ovens, pipes, etc
  • Geotextile applications, such as corrosion prevention, landscaping, roofing, etc.
